Ciao! We arrived last night to Florence. Spent 30 minutes trying to get to the airport from the car rental place (.02 km). We needed to pick up Lornna and Karen. Trying to figure out the roads in the dark and pouring rain was interesting. Tom was quite patient with me. It all ended up perfectly. We found them and easily made our way to Lucca.
On arrival to Lucca Roberto met us on the outskirts (outside the wall) and drove us to the B&B. 5 of us with 4 bags and a few back packs managed to fit into the small BMW and off we went! We were greeted at the B&B by Margherita. Our hosts are charming and our B&B couldn't be more perfect!
We also managed to arrive during the 500th anniversary of the building of the wall so many shops were open all night in town and there were a few live bands. It was fantastic!
We enjoyed our first Italian dinner at a little restaurant "da Norma Clara". Great pizza. Great wine. Great service. A sign of the beginning of a perfect holiday!
