Lesson #1. Umbrellas are good. Lesson #2. Best to arrive at the Vatican before the line is a mile long.. ;) honestly, we entered St Peters square, lightening lit the sky up and a torrential downpour occured (hmmm). Eventually the water drained from our shoes, and we continued our trek through Rome.
We did manage to jump on one of those double decker tour buses that shuttled us around a bit (that was fun). But our primary mode of transportation was "by foot".
Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, spanish steps, Piazza del Campidoglio, Piazza Venezia, Arch of Janus....and too much to list. We could easily spend a month here and not see everything worth seeing. We also managed to do a bit of "window" shopping.
Tomorrow we will get a early start - our adventure will continue in Amalfi!
